Having a caravan checklist for tools is equally as important as the other checklists in the series. Even if you have a new or nearly new caravan, carrying a few basic tools could help save the day is something goes wrong. This list could be limitless and it really depends on how much you feel comfortable fixing. I personally take a minimal tool kit, which contains most things on this list. At the very least a gas spanner is useful as it allows you to disconnect the gas bottle should you run out. I also carry a multi tool, which is like a hammer, screwdriver knife etc in one tool

Over time your own personal caravan checklist will of course increase.

  • Utility knife
  • Screwdrivers (philips and flat)
  • Jack
  • Hammer
  • Mallet
  • Cable ties
  • Electrical tape
  • PTFE tape
  • Bottle opener…

Experienced caravanners that are still learning!Our first caravan was a Knaus which we bought from Germany in 2006. After this we bought a Autotrail Motorhome, but sold that to build a house. Once that was done we went back to a caravan, a Sterling Eccles, which we recently part-ex'd for a Bailey Unicorn.
